portrait of sneha
Hai!

i'm a mixed methods ux researcher and strategist with 5+ years of industry experience. i've worked across finance, higher ed, and social impact.

i translate deep user understanding into product direction and business impact.

outside of work i'm probably reading a novel, sewing something, or watching a too-long documentary about something niche.

my approach

core principles i carry throughout the process.

/ 02
01
advocate for the user
being a researcher usually means being closest to the customer and that gives me the responsibility to advocate for them and share their stories in impactful ways.
02
research is collaboration
i want to get the whole team excited and engaged about users. the best insights stick when everyone helped uncover them.
03
lead with purpose
every study starts with a clear why. if the question isn't worth answering, we don't run it so the work we do always points somewhere that matters.

I shape financial wellness tools for 30MM+ customers, turning better experiences into measurable business value and building strategies to serve customers with very different needs.

case 01mixed-methods

making credit scores make sense

the challenge

Customers were regularly confused about what their credit score means, why it changed, and what actions they could take — despite all of these being core jobs-to-be-done. My goal was to determine how to increase comprehension and engagement with our tool.

how i helped
  • Co-creation sessionsIncluding customers to help guide the direction of the product.
  • Card sortLearn what information is seen as most valuable and understand how they comprehend the current info.
  • Quant surveyTo test comprehension and validate design choices.
the impact
+21%comprehension
65%better than competitor

Score change reasons and their point impact are now surfaced right on the homepage.

case 02evaluative

a budget set-up people actually finish

the challenge

The budget flow had a completion rate of 33% and a drop-off rate of 45% on the very first screen. My goal was to determine how to mitigate the drop-off during enrollment.

how i helped
  • 12 moderated interviewsTalked to users to better understand their budgeting habits and mental models around finances. Deepened work around behavioral archetypes.
  • Concept testingTested a new flow to gauge how customers reacted to a shorter enrollment process.
the impact
more budgets created
+72%engagement

A 3× increase in new budgets created and a 72% lift in engagement — aligned with OKRs to deepen engagement and monetize.

case 03foundational

knowing who to design debt tools for

the challenge

Credit and debt are deeply intertwined, but the current tool did not help customers manage debt. The team wanted to explore how to integrate debt management. I owned the strategy for who to design for and how to best meet their specific needs.

how i helped
  • Generative interviewsRan moderated IDIs with customers managing debt to learn their behaviors, motivations, and emotions.
the impact
4mindsets defined
newintegration kicked off

Four mindsets developed from research helped the team gain a deeper understanding of who to design for and how. I intentionally chose mindsets over personas since managing debt is deeply tied to feelings of agency and knowledge rather than demographics.
